The Orion Coil Driver – 6-Way is a premium, high-voltage ignition driver designed to operate six basic coils that lack internal driver circuits. Built for use with Spitronics ECUs such as Orion2 and Mercury3, it is ideal for engines requiring six fully independent spark outputs or wasted spark configurations.

This 6×6 driver setup provides six dedicated high-voltage negative drivers, each triggered by a corresponding ECU signal. In some cases, it can also be used in wasted spark mode, allowing users to drive 6 coils with just 3 ECU driver outputs—freeing up valuable ECU channels for other control features like injectors, boost solenoids, or fans.

The Orion Coil Driver delivers up to 500V on the primary side, generating a robust 50kV spark output on most compatible coils. To ensure safe operation and avoid overheating, it’s critical to correctly set the coil charge time based on the coil’s specifications (generally below 5.5 amps).
